‘Cast Your Fate to the Wind’ was chosen as a tribute to the drummer British born drummer Colin Bailey.
The death was recently announced of guitarist Pat Martino. Martino started out playing with the likes of Frankie Avalon and Bobby Daren, but went on to record a number of jazz albums which left him with an international reputation. In 1980, he suffered a haemorrhaged arteriovenous malformation causing a "near-fatal seizure". This left him with amnesia and no recollection or knowledge of his career or how to play the very instrument that made him successful. He was forced to learn how to play the guitar from zero. He recovered to the extent that he was voted Downbeat’s Guitar Player of the Year in 2004.
