Previously ‘Track of the Day’ ran down a chart of the ‘Top 300 Jazz Artists’ as determined on ‘Rate Your Music’. The new theme is ‘artists that didn’t make the charts’.
Having considered the quirky interpretation of Scott Joplin's 'The Ragtime Dance' by Air, here is a more conventional take.

We are straying a little from Jazz here, but I think this is worth a listen.

This is the track that bought Scott Joplin to public attention again in the film 'The Sting'. Ironically, Scott Joplin and 'The Sting' belonged to entirely different eras.

Next in the list of ‘artists that didn’t make the charts’ is American guitarist Bill Frisell. I amazed he didn't make the charts. He has a very wide and diverse repertoire and assuming that his coverage is good in YouTube, we will be looking at him for quite a while.

This a long video of Bill Frisell in concert. It shows how mesmerising his playing can be and it shows that he is definitely a Jazz performer rather than just a guitarist.

This track is in tribute to American Blues guitarist Joe Bussard. Although he plays the guitar here, he is best known as a collector and cataloguer of historic blues records. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Joe_Bussard
