Joey Alexander was born in Indonesia in June 2003. He played the Montreal International Jazz Festival and the Newport Jazz Festival last year. In February 2016, Alexander was nominated for the Grammy Awards Best Jazz Instrumental Album (for My Favorite Things) and Best Improvised Jazz Solo (for Giant Steps). The Album was released when he was 11 years old. This link shows him playing at the age of 10.
Another young musician is the unlikely named Emily Bear who has recorded an album produced by Quincy Jones. Here she is in action .
