Goodbye to Jerry Lee; here he is playing a blues.
I saw him perform in the year 2000. He was (rightly) at the bottom of the bill below Little Richard and Chuck Berry. He seemed very frail even then. At one time he stood up and we thought he was going to reproduce his famous move where he put his foot up on the piano. But instead, some people came along and took him off the stage.
Strangely, Chuck Berry was top in form, Little Richard was more restrained and Jerry Lee seemed frail. But in the end, they passed away in the reverse order to that which I would have predicted.

Previously ‘Track of the Day’ ran down a chart of the ‘Top 300 Jazz Artists’ as determined on ‘Rate Your Music’. The new theme is ‘artists that didn’t make the charts’.
Next in the list of ‘artists that didn’t make the charts’ is British Saxophonist John Surman.

I have probably chosen this as track of the day before but it is well worth a repeat. John Surman plays the baritone sax solo immediately after Chris Pynes' trombone solo.
