So you have started a new thread to inform other members of an upcoming local music event.
It would be helpful to them if you could provide a link to a webpage describing the event. How do you do this?
The first step is to use a search engine to find a webpage which provides information on the event. Try to find the page which gives the fullest information about the event rather than one which gives just a passing mention. Once you have located the webpage that you want, note that in the address bar there is a load of gobbledygook. This is the web address. A typical web address might be

The next step is to highlight the web address. Using your mouse, click to the very right (or the very left) of the web address in the address bar. Depress the left-hand mouse button and drag the mouse pointer along to the very left (or the very right) of the address. The address should now be highlighted (typically bright blue). Make sure that all of the address is highlighted.
The next step is to copy the address. Without moving the mouse, click the right-hand mouse button. This should give you a ‘pop-up menu’. Select ‘Copy’ from this menu and click the left mouse button.
You now have a copy of the web address stored on your computer.
The next step is to create a blank message to add to your thread. Go to the thread and open it, and then click the ‘Reply’ button.
A message box appears. Type some text into the message box perhaps ‘Here is a link to the event’. Move your mouse pointer to the end of this text, right click on your mouse and select the ‘Paste’ option.
Now click the ‘Preview’ tab. All the text is there but the text for the web link doesn't look like an active web link. The next step is to create a link. Highlight the web link text, and click the icon above the message box which has a globe and a page as illustration. A pop-up box appears click the ‘Create Link’ button.
Click the ‘Create Post’ button to complete your task.
