Someone has gone to a great effort to compile this list on You Tube of "1001 songs you must hear before you die”. www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLQamScP4YUwUUiwEnOIqphqfvUao3bNkqThere is no risk of a fatal outcome because some of the videos have been deleted! Some of the earlier entries will be of interest to Jazz and Blues fans.... Bessie Smith singing ‘St Louis Blues’; Louis Armstrong singing ‘St James Infirmary’; Billie Holiday ‘Strange Fruit’; Leadbelly ‘The Gallis Pole’; Robert Johnson ‘Crossroads’; BB King ‘The Thrill is Gone’, Jackie Brenston ‘Rocket 88’; Later entries include the Flamingos ‘I only have Eyes for You’, The Kingsmen ‘Louie Louie’, Grandmaster Flash ‘The Message’ and even Lorraine Ellison ‘Stay with Me’. I expect everyone can find obvious omissions. I noticed the absence of Ketty Lester’s ‘Love Letters’, Tommy Tucker’s ‘Hi Heel Sneakers’, the Valentinos ‘Its all Over Now” ...plus no Prince Buster or Skatellites!! But mostly it is very good and interesting.

Thanks for the list but I love the following ones: Fats Waller > Ain't Misbehavin Dizzy Gillespie > A Night in Tunisia Billie Holiday > The man in love Though these are little old but I always love to hear them and yes, for sure, I would like to listen them before leaving this world. Next month, I am also going to Nashville and for sure, I would must attend some Jazz concerts. I just got some information from here concerts50.com/upcoming-concerts-in-tennessee/nashville that Nat King Cole, and Bill Charlap are performing this spring. My stay would prolong to 4-5 months.

Bill Charlap is a name I hadn't heard before so I was interested to listen to his music on YouTube particularly 'Uptown, Downtown'. The Nat King Cole concert is a centenary concert. It caused me to look up his biography and I was sad to read that he was only 45 when he died of cancer. The other day I was amazed to come across this stunning live rendition of 'Let There be Love' by Si Cranstoun. www.youtube.com/watch?v=GNKX8FAoMnY
