For those interested in the classic Blue Note era of recorded music, I would like to recommend the London Jazz Collector web site: londonjazzcollector.wordpress.com/Anybody into 50s/60s jazz will find much to pique their interest, including mp3 sample tracks from the now very expensive Blue Note original albums procured by LJC. Enjoy, RichardD

A while ago a friend introduced me to ‘Idle Moments’ by ‘Grant Green’ and it soon became my favourite Blue Note Album.
‘London Jazz Collector’ seems to agree. londonjazzcollector.wordpress.com/2012/12/15/grant-green-idle-moments-1963-blue-note/“Everyone has favourites. With some people its Miles’ Kind of Blue, for others its Coltrane’s Giant Steps, everyone has their own personal favourite most wanted record, the one you would choose to take with you to your desert island, for me it’s Grant Green’s Idle Moments, primarily by reason of its 14 minute title track, in which the solos from Green, Henderson, Hutcherson and Pearson are non-pareil. “
The title track is probably too long for one of our meetings. You will have to check it out here. www.youtube.com/watch?v=IOOUCoGAnHk
