So the BBC barely acknowledged the centenary of the first Jazz recording, let alone celebrate one hundred years of recorded Jazz. But now they announce a series that will " survey key historic performances and highlights in the last 100 years of classical music". As part of this they will be featuring work by female composers that in some cases have not been heard in over 100 years. Someone ought to tell them that they have a lot more work to do if they wish undo their cultural bias. When did anyone last hear a track of more than 10 minutes from a Jazz album played on the BBC?
